Marta Rubi Espresso

Brewtus Roasting and Vergel Estates are teaming up again this year to bring you this exceptional Direct Trade coffee. We are continuing our support for the farmers during the current challenging times. Brewtus Roasting is paying five times over current Fair Trade prices.

This coffee is a red bourbon varietal named after Marta, mother of Shady and Elias Bayter, who run El Vergel Estate in Tolima, Colombia.

An invaluable part of her son's life, Marta is also a pillar of her community, creating a project where she employs local women to harvest and sort this coffee, providing them an income to help support their families.

The cherries for this coffee were harvested at peak ripeness before being fermented in an anaerobic environment inside steel tanks for 60 hours. After fermentation, the coffee is sun-dried for 24 days. The coffee is then stored in grain pro bags for 2 months.  They go through great lengths to only produce the finest yields from the crops for Brewtus Roasting.

Brewtus Roasting has spent a lot of time on this special LIMITED EDITION ESPRESSO balancing the fruity notes and bringing out more sweetness and development in the coffee. The hard work paid off with notes of raspberry and chocolate. This coffee is roasted medium and tastes great as filter coffee or even a nice pour-over or french press. You won't be disappointed.
